Cars like the Chevy Spark and the Honda Accord are just two examples of where this technology can eventually be found. These cars will basically become robotic assistants that will assist you while you are driving. For example, if you are looking for a particular restaurant in a new city that you are visiting, just tell the computer the name and location of the address you are looking for. It will give you verbal directions as you are driving until you find your destination. This certainly beats having to print out directions and stare down at a piece of paper while you are driving. This smart dashboard will allow drivers to keep their eyes on the road. Since most of the commands can be given to the computer verbally, you won’t even need to use your fingers much to tap the screen.

In addition to map apps and driving directions, smart dashboards will be able to play your favorite music that is saved on your smartphone as well as activate a number of other apps. This will also prevent drivers from doing something that is becoming illegal in many states, which is using their smartphones while driving. There have been so many traffic accidents caused by drivers either talking on their smartphones or texting with them. Now this will likely change once enough smart dashboards get integrated into vehicles. People can just control the function of their apps without having to take their eyes off the road. This will save many lives and will be convenient for many people. Since the cars that will have this technology will be under $20,000, chances are a lot of people will have it in their cars within the next 10 years. Only time will tell.
